Terms
Last updated October 28, 2026
The short version: SteadyJar helps you plan; it doesn't hold your money or give financial advice. The free plan is free. Pro renews until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime. Please check the numbers before you rely on them.
Using SteadyJar
SteadyJar is run by Media Yard LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“Media Yard”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Media Yard and apply when you use the SteadyJar website and app (“SteadyJar”). By using SteadyJar you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What SteadyJar is, and isn't
SteadyJar is a planning tool. It works out how much to set aside for costs you tell it about. It doesn't connect to your bank, move money or hold money for you: the money stays wherever you keep it. The amounts it shows are estimates based on what you enter, and SteadyJar isn't financial, tax or legal advice. You're responsible for your own money decisions and for checking that the numbers fit your situation.
Your account
You don't need an account for the free plan. If you sign in, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code, so keep access to that email secure. You're responsible for what happens on devices that are signed in to your account. Sign out of a device you no longer use from Settings on it.
Your data
Your jars and notes are yours. You give us permission to store, copy and process them only as needed to run SteadyJar for you, such as backing them up and syncing them between your devices. Our Privacy page explains what we store and how to delete it.
Free plan and Pro
The free plan includes up to 3 jars, Find my bills and monthly plans. SteadyJar Pro adds unlimited jars, backup and sync, payday plans, shared jars and AI assistant keys, for the price shown in the app when you subscribe (currently $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year, in US dollars). Taxes may be added where they apply.
- Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year and is charged to your payment method through Stripe, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in the app under Settings → SteadyJar Pro → Manage subscription. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Refunds. Payments aren't refunded for partly used periods, except where the law says otherwise. Charges appear from Media Yard LLC or SteadyJar. If you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll sort it out.
- When Pro ends. Your jars stay on your device. You keep any jars you already have, but you can't add more than the free plan allows, and backup and sync stop.
- Price changes. If we change the price of Pro, we'll email you before your next renewal at the new price, so you can cancel first if you want to.
AI assistants
If you connect an AI assistant, by signing in from it or with a key, it acts for you: what it logs or creates in SteadyJar is treated as if you did it. Keep keys private and remove any you no longer use. AI assistants can make mistakes, so check what they log. We aren't responsible for the assistant itself or for its maker's terms.
Fair use
Please don't misuse SteadyJar: don't try to break into it or other people's accounts, overload it, get around the free plan limits, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that does.
Changes to SteadyJar
We're always improving SteadyJar, so features may change. If we ever shut it down, we'll give signed-in users at least 30 days' notice by email and refund any Pro time paid for beyond the shutdown date.
No warranty
We work hard to keep SteadyJar accurate and running, but it's provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, so keep your own records of anything important.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed bill, late fees or lost savings, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for SteadyJar in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be settled informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the US, this doesn't take away any protection you have under the consumer laws where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we'll tell signed-in users by email before they take effect. Using SteadyJar after that means you accept the new terms.
